inFamous movie on the way

Sony Pictures has signed a seven-figure deal to bring inFamous to the big screen.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, a bloke called Sheldon Turner is set to write the script. He previously penned The Longest Yard and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and is working on X-Men Oranges: Magneto.

Avi and Ari Arad have signed up to produce the movie. Their previous credits include The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. They're also producing the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune film announced last month.

inFamous, for those who aren't familiar, follows the adventures of a bloke called Cole who can make lightning come out of his hands like in Star Wars. It scored a highly respectable 7/10 on Eurogamer.

"What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I've come across that had a big idea and a character arc," said Turner.

"It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is."

A release date for the film, announced there has been not.

I played a little of the demo for this game and found it quite entertaining. I'd certainly give the film a good ol' try.

The game looked alright, don't know if this is a smart move or just pure genius yet. We'll find out I guess ^__^

They're either gonna pull the usual 'Video games > Movies = Fail' or make it good..

If they manage to make it good then it will be one of the very first EVER video game movies that was actually GOOD.

I eagerly await to see how this turns out.
I can see the special effects being rather spectacular.

I'm aware "Taser" isn't a very girly name. I just chose it as a nick because I thought that since "Taser" is an object/company name, there wouldn't be a gender thing going on with it.
