What present to get for the girl I like.

It's her birthday coming up, and I want to ask her out. See we've been close friends for about 2 years now, but I want to be more than that. And I need a girls opinion on what kind of present to get her. I recently got a raise, so my limit is around $1200 - $5120.

Guys, you can answer but I need a female opinion, and I've been going crazy trying to think of something!!!

it depends on the girl. for me, a hand made card is fine, dont need anything expensive, but some girls like jewlery or chocolate.

oh and spending $1000 on a gift to ask a girl out?! where the heck do you live man, monaco? just get her something that will MEAN something to her instead of an expensive gift. save those to when you're dating and need to appologize >.<

yes, we'd need a bit more information on the girl.
Well, nothing too expensive, it might make her feel uneasy.
But I guess you can go with some flowers - doesn't have to be the maingift, it can be a little thing on the side. (and doesn't have to be roses, I think)

Wohoo . . you either have a lot money to spend on not-so-important-stuff , or you really like her and are going to spend your savings on a . . . not-so-important-thing .
Something small , but heartwarming . Always does the trick . Something she likes , that will make her smile , that she can keep for a long time . .

doesnt have to be expensive, as long as it shows that you're being thoughtful. a handmade gift is also an option (like Taser's suggestion about the card). pick something sweet that will be memorable for her! good luck ^ ^

Well, I might not be a girl and I might not have the most experience in love(probably close to none, just anime/manga/drama), but I don't think you should just get a girl an expensive gift, but give her something she'll never forget. Even if it is cheap.
