I just need to clarify something

So, I'm a guy, and I draw. I'm in college, and I draw a lot during classes, and sometimes I will have a nice angle for a profile shot of a girl who I looks interesting, so I'll draw that girl. Now there is this one girl who I would like to turn into a manga character for my manga that I will be getting around to eventually. I would like to get to know this girl more because she seems really cool and for the sake of the character, and I don't want to creep her out, I can come off as a creepy dude at times and this being one of those times. How do I go about this? Get to know her then ask her, straight up ask her? What would you ladies on this site think if some random dude just asked you if he could use you in his comic book?

Well for one you have a good imagination but I would straight up ask her with an expliantion as to why she insipered this charater. Go for it!

if it were me i'd just straight up ask her, saying that i love to draw and that she seemed an interesting person to draw. just remember to keep smiling at all times. that way, unless you smile like a psycho, it's very unlikely that she'll think of u as a creepy guy, and will probably feel flattered that you though of her as "worthy to draw".

Well, if she is bit of an extrovert she will be delight.

but if its those shy types, they may freak out a bit.

Talk to her a bit, don't ask straight away. After like 5 mins of convo or something, then ask her straight away. It is safer, and you will probably get the result you want.

Ask her and explain to her why. If you are not sure about how to start. Start with an introduction. Go over to her and say hi, introduce yourself. Explain to her what it is you do and why you want to draw her.

She may think you are trying to pick her up no matter what you say. Guys use all kinds of pick up lines. So she may be wary if she isn't interested in you, she may even be rude (At first. Don't give up if she is. You may still be able to charm her. Just know when to draw the line between conversing and harassment)
I would suggest you bring samples and explain what it is you want to do. You should find out if she knows what Manga is. Explain what type you plan to draw. She may be flattered she may be freaked out. But you will never know if you don't ask

One thing I would like to add. If I didn't know better I would think you may be attracted to her but don't realize it. It could lead to one of you developing feelings for the other (You will be required to spend time with her if she agrees) If that is not what you want. Make that clear and hold firm. Try not to send out any mixed signals. If you do that and she still falls for you and you are not interested. It will not be because you did anything and she will have to work that out by herself...

Edit...Don't keep smiling if it isn't genuine. It will creep her out. Besides people who smile continuously are usually insane. No one is happy all the time. Those who are, are those without problems. No sane person is without problems.

Seems interesting...

With nothing to lose, you can just head straight up and talk... but no need to rush the manga thing... just a simple conversation... then pop the manga question... it shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe you should make sure that the person knows what manga is... or you could probably just say comic book... but don't go straight up with "I think you would be a excellent character for a manga I'm doing"... g'luck with it man.

I'd just approach her casually, see if you can strike a chord with her. I would be flattered if someone asked me to use my likeness for their comic, but everyone reacts differently. She may be open to the idea, maybe she'll become involved with it, or she'll ask you why, and get shy around you.

Don't have much to lose in my eyes, though. :3
