I wonder to myself if it's perfectly natural for girls to feel more attracted to the good looking guys rather than guys who are cutting-edge smart.

It's just that, when I think of people like Bill Hicks (the late comediant), I ask myself: ''did that guy had anyone for himself in his unpredictably-short life?''

I think that girl like most guys (I think) are naturally more attracted to the better looking ones of the opposite gender. In nature, the more attractive generally means better genetic material. Or because humans like all animals make a lot of decisions based on sex. Sex is how we reproduce therefore sex is good. So i guess its just nature to pick the better looking girl. That is not to say that they don't love smart guys, they just like looking at hot guys better.

It's natural for girls to be attracted to boys who have certain physical features they like, for example chubby, thin, pale, tanned, blue-eyed, brown-eyed, blonde, brown-haired, tall, small etc. It all depends on how the respective girl defines "good-looking". Every single person would imagine completely different people when asked that question, I have no doubt about that. Take me, for an instant, I like girls who are curvey, blonde and pale, with mild facial features. Sure, it's probably not easy finding a girl with exactly these criteria, but you get my point, no? Also, IMO, there are two forms of attractions: physical attraction and emotional attraction. For a girl to end up in the latter category, she must have a personality I like, too, not just the looks. You understand what I mean?

When girls finish puberty, they will naturally go for the handsome guys first. Then, after they grow up and become less shallow, they'll see intellectual guys for their worth.

It's been said here many, many, MANY times before: looks are the first determinant in a relationship, UNLESS you are being introduced as friends first.

Women no matter what age admire a good looking man than someone who has smarts, let's face it. But maturity can lead females to value intelligence more than looks because character never fades, but the physical withers away. But that does not exclude the fact that there are handsome men who are also intellectual like Gerard Butler (the guy who played King Leonidas in the film 300). Butler finished law and practiced his profession as an attorney before he turned to acting. Women who are mature find intellect as a component that will lead to something good, such as a secure future for them. Smart men tend to overstep the boundaries of what is possible and venture to different trades which in turn can jet them to career advancements that will last though the outward appearances fade. Take models for example. Male models are great when they're young. But those who do not take the opportunity to make a name for themselves in the industry (making their own label or going into acting, etc.), they are soon dropped by agencies and designers once their virility and youth are gone. Fellows like Bill Gates, though. They go to become billionaires because they expound on their dream/profession to new heights for society.

But in some aspects, good looking or handsome is not strictly confined to the physical characteristics. To a woman, appealing or handsome may be the intelligence factor. Take myself as an example. As a die-hard fan of the show Supernatural, I was thrown the frequently-asked-question among my peers: Which of the brothers do you like? The sexier-than-Hell Dean (who chases skirts and had no ambition of going to university or listening to history lessons) or the less-in-hotness Sam (who went to college and studied to gain a law degree). Though most women answered that they wanted Dean, I found myself liking Sam more because of this smarts. How he figures out the situation almost instantaneously is something I admire. To me, that's what makes him sexy.

So fret not, there are still women out there who fawn over smart men as much as they like hot, bodacious guys.

women are like men at 1st (at least all my female friends are), physical attraction is what starts it all everything else comes after unless they already know the person really well. there are some women that don't give a shit about looks but they come about as rare as men that have that having that same idea in mind.

I feel actually more attracted towards someone with a good personality even if his appearance isn't so impressive.For that reason when I see someone handsome I can't imagine that he also has a nice personality,cause most times guys like that have a crappy personality after all.So for some reason even if I like someone(appearnce) I don't want to get to know him,cause I only like to look at him and nothing more.
I'm weird but anyway,who cares.
