Things like that, you should judge after trying to get to know them. And if you by any chance didn't like his person, then it's just "Hasta la vista, baby." ;-D XD

The axiom smart is sexy is something that is very true. There's no denying the physical attraction, that's pure genetics at work and at not something that's easily controlled. What most men I've spoken with/friends with don't fully realize is that each woman's idea of "good looking" is different. Generally speaking, most first attractions are physical; unless you're in a more engulfed intellectual setting where their intelligence would make them more noticeable (imagine a university lecture hall full of 900 students).
Most "good looking" guys have something that puts them in front of the rest - confidence, and the will to be forward and not afraid of taking risks. Some guys I know are more afraid of getting rejected by a girl than the actual act of asking them out. I've had my pride hurt of few times being turned down, and have done the same to a few guys that I rejected. Its the mentality to not be defeated so easily and get back on your feet that will show more of ones character in resolve (but not to the point of being a player, that's a whole different story) that gets noticed. |

Re: handsome guys vs. intelectual guys
^ The thing about confidence is quite true. I believe that once you've reached a certain "decent looking" treshold (basically, you're not ugly), then what matters most is your confidence and your aura, and not necessarily your physical features.
Why do you people here have to mention "genetics" all the time though? Geez, genetics aren't a magic word that solves everything, and Darwin must be rolling of laughter in his tomb because of all the misuses related to natural and artificial selections. ![]() ![]() Symbols and emblems are what gives us anonymous users a recognizable identity. Kippy could have had anything else than the communist symbol, as long as it was violent, well known, and not pejorative. I'm not pompous enough to make my own emblem. Re: handsome guys vs. intelectual guys
In my opinion, handsome guys are there to look at and admire, though not all of them have bad personalities, I like someone that I can have a good conversation with and keeps me interested. So I guess for me, my 'good-looking' would have to be someone with an ambition no matter how far-fetched it seems because I always seem to go for that type regardless of looks but I do have my own fair share of fawning over Abercrombie models.

Its programmed into us genetically so to speak that we will seek our or single out those that are attractive to us (where attractive can also be correlated to mean in the eye of the beholder); some guys will have a sort of universal appeal though other types may be appealing solely on personal preference. Depending on what that is, the girl may or may not share that aspect of herself with many (of maybe only her best friend) of her friends if its something considered atypical or unusual. Kind of like how some guys (I've met a couple) that prefer smaller breasts (not necessarily tsurupetan, but you get the idea) over large ones - but not to the point that they'd have total lolicon appetites. Admitting that openly though could lead others to assume that person's a lolicon even if hey say doesn't like short people. No one wants to get negatively labelled since such stamps can be very hard to erase from people's minds/perceptions. As a result many of what mind be less than perfect or undesirable traits that one might find attractive are socially repressed and not talked about as to not get labelled a fetishist of sort. |
