Can someone translate/help?

Ok, the situation is this: over the years, and especially the last few, I've met many girls (with whom I became friends) who told me I was really nice, funny, kind, etc... and they'd usually say that I should get a girlfriend. The way they said it, it was like it's a pity I don't have one, and that I should be able to get one easily enough, yet I'm having difficulty getting one.

I know that everyone is different, and therefore other girls will react differently than my friends, but I'm wondering what they mean when they say I should/could get one. Is there some kind of hidden message in there, or am I worrying about nothing?

Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, I'm having difficulties explaining the situation.

Nope no hidden message. They are just being kind. Weither or not your looks actually compliment you on the ability to perhaps get one easily may however be a different story.

But they aren't giving you a hidden message. Your just being told that your boyfriend material.

if you want to pressure a bit the next time they are beign kind...just tell them "if you are that worried about me getting a gf, why you dont step up and be my gf?"
see the reaction on them and see what happens o,o maybe that way they will learn to mind their own bussniess

Normally it should piece together if they're asking... It couldn't harm to simply say...

"Well, I was thinking about that... Do you have a boyfriend..? Because if not maybe you and me can go out some time."

See how that works out.

Lol are you really 27? Guess it doesn't get any easier once you get older haha. I just turned 25 myself and I have the same situations.

Never been good with girls or confident enough to make a move and one girl I hung out with a lot would always say or do things to make me think she wanted to be my girlfriend but then other times it'd be the exact opposite.

I kinda cut her off for awhile and she calls me now and then which I don't understand so I don't know if she's toying with me or not haha.

Either way, good luck. The stuff Silmeria suggested could probably work if you're interested in any of your friends though lol.

your lucky im online and reading this,

if ask/tell you to get one, there could be 2 reason,
1/ is that they have feeling towards you, and are to shy to say it in proper words.
2/ they are saying you have a good personality and that any girl would date you, and this may also relate to no.1

Lol, thanks for the replies, but no, they're not interested... I even had a really in-depth conversation about it with one, she likes me, but not that much. And I'm not the 'right type' for most of the others... Ah well.
