For me I would prefer the the raw from japan with english subtitle rather than the english dub in anime since they usually make mistake in dubbing the words and usually the voice they use don't match the characters. :)

I really don't like english dubs, so if there is an anime which I can only find dubs for I'll refuse to watch it untill I find a japanese version. :P

Well... I like only japanese dub because of that cuting and... well japenese sounds better than other dubs...

I prefer subs over dubs. Mainly cause the only good dub i've heard was full metal alchemist. One of the problems with the some of the dubs is the pronunciation of names (those of you who've seen the dubbed version of cardcaptor sakura know what i mean)

me like most of u out there hate dub anime but after thinking about it i think it really depends on how well the dubbing compaired to the subs are cause their are good dubs and bad dubs but most important is the subtitles let say the subtitles are short and to the point u dont get the emotion behind the words this is the same problem with dub however the dub can be completly off and the voice actors horrible so i think its really up in the air but in most anime there is at least one thats good either the dub or the subs but it seems never both...

I'm amongst the few who believe dubs aren't all bad... don't get me wrong, Naruto for example makes me want to burn things... but for every 80 shows dubbed badly there's one that's done right, for example cowboy bebop (prepares for flames...)

the LARGE majority of dubs are bad. initial D was terrible in english. but some like cowboy bebop, samurai champloo and macross plus werent so bad. but the shinesman dub is much better than the sub. when the humor,puns and innuendo were translated into english it made it much funnier. the japanese audio with english subs didnt translate well with the shinesman so the english lines were much funnier.

The only thing I will complain is you say Naruto's dub makes you want to burn things.

Naruto's overall shitness makes me want to hurt things.

However, I fail to see how Cowboy Bebop is compares with an eighties show. It was made in the late 90s. I would say maybe Zeta Gundam would be a good example for tht.
