For the true men, you must watch Hokuto no Ken　[北斗の拳] because of it's manliness and exploding muscles (No I haven't personally watched it)

For talk, the guy I agree with the guy who said Azumanga, I think Lucky Star and Azumanga are pretty much on par

But personally I think the most otaku anime are like Nanoha types - the ones you see fat people with cameras hiding behind telephone poles watching, if you disagree it's perfectly fine and i'm not necessarily saying it's a bad anime; just that Nanoha is...yeah

Then you have the original Gundams - not the sissy Seed or Wing stuff but stuff for real men; I would suck Char or Amuro's penis anyday if they didn't get crushed by Axis

Hmm, I agree with what people have said about there being no specific 'Otaku' (Although I dislike that word) anime. However I think Lucky Star and Hayate no Gotoku would have to be up there. Lucky Star because Konata is an Otaku icon really, and Hayate because you'd have to be a hardcore watcher to be able to understand the sheer volume of references it makes.
