The 13-episode Elfen Lied, as well as the 26-episode GitS and FSN have to be the ultimate short goodies I've ever seen.

The shortest (Good) anime you've ever seen
My shortest anime was samurai champloo and cowboy bebop, which had 26 episodes each. Devil may cry has 20? I own the collector's edition but haven't watched. I watch very long animes as well since the story isn't bound to a certain amount of limited episodes. I have to say, I LOVE Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo even though it could have been longer.
