I need suggestions on what's a good series.
I've been looking for a good anime to watch. I haven't seen much but I loved Death Note and Blood+. I'm looking for something like them, something serious without much comedy. Preferably very little to no mecha stuff.

Re: I need suggestions on what's a good series.
Monster is a masterpiece that fits well in all your requirements. It's also way better than the two animes you named.
You could also try watching 12 kingdoms... it's a bit boring in the beggining, and it's technical aspects aren't that great, but it's one of the animes with best story for sure, and also one of the best anime's i've seen overall. Also, no mechas and almost no comedy in it. Of course, there's also Full Metal Alchemist if you are looking for good stories (it's my n° 1 anime in that aspect). Even if this one has a lot more comedy in it, it is not filled with it... and even if it was, you should watch it anyway, since it's in my top 5 even after I've watched more than 160 anime series. You can also watch Kaiji. It's an ongoing anime (still airing), with weird design, but a fantastic story so far. Might not look apealing at first, but it fast turns into something you can't stop watching. Hmmm, there's also Eureka 7, but... o well, this anime does have a lot of good comedy in it, and it also have mechas (but unlike what you have probably have seen, they only have a secondary place to tell an amazing story), but it also has a serious story, and it's so good in every aspect that it's one of my 3 all time favorite animes. I know you'd be surprised if you watch it... after all, is so much better than blood+. Finally, there's also trigun, shigofumi, Legend of the galactic heroes, Mushishi, etc...

Re: I need suggestions on what's a good series.
Thanks a lot, I'll give them a try. I did start watching Full Metal. I didn't think I'd like it at first but it's grown on me, the story is really good. I haven't heard of the other ones but I'll be sure to check them out.

Re: I need suggestions on what's a good series.
"Code Geass" is the one of the best Animes I've ever seen in my life.
If you want a great anime with a good ammout of Ecchi, Storyline and no fucking around aswell as having an amazing plot and more then a box full of twists and turns as well as secrets then thats an anime for you. So far only Season 1 is out which has around 26 Episodes, so its not too long but long enough to be a decent Anime. "Rozen Maiden" has the cutest cast for an anime. It's got a great storyline and you really feel the depth of the love in there. The characters are masterpieces and the voicing is amazing. The graphics and the quality of the anime is like none other. The only set back is the cast are dolls and not real. (No cartoons are real but its hard to think of these characters as "chibi" (small humans) after you have seen their joints. It's also slightly frustrating as well. The last setback to Rozen Maiden is that the anime series was discontinued. While the manga is still being produced. Even though it should proberly be hurryed up and finished. Some things over stay their welcome. 26 Episodes exist for Rozen Maiden I'm pretty sure. 2 Seasons and 12 Episodes per Season. Plus 2 episodes into Season 3 then it was discontinued. "Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan" I watched this today. It's full of gore and violence but its hugely comical and it makes you laugh more then "Full Metal Jacket". No.. I lied then. Nothing makes you laugh more then Full Metal Jacket. But this anime is good! It's short (Only 8 Episodes). And the Episodes are only 14Minutes long each, so they are packed into 30 minute 2-Episodes-Per-File jobs. The storyline is somewhat confusing and not really explained but that doesn't stop it being pretty good ecchi even though sometimes your just screaming for some nipple when theres none to be found in the whole series. Textbook anime just as shes taking off her clothes shes sorta distracted and then it ends up not happening. So loads of teasing and be prepared to be frustrated with this anime if your expecting Hentai. All your gonna get is Ecchi. Apart from that Dokuro-chan is the cutest anime girl I've ever seen and she has an amazing body. She's drawn well and her voicing is fantastic! The only set back to Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan is the ending. It's hard to understand and it doesn't really make sense. Click the spoilers button for a small ending spoiler

Anyway. Thats all that are worth it I think. I'd say stay away from Bleach for now. Same with Naruto. Too much depth and unless you want to watch 150 episodes of 1 anime when you could have finished 4 in that time. Be my guest. EDIT: I just bothered to read your post, well I still think you should definatly check these animes out. Seriously I don't think you'll be disappointed. "Code Geass" is mecha but lots of it has no mecha in it. "Rozen Maiden" has some awesome fights and loads of cool things to keep you interested. "Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan" is funny, witty and has loads of blood if you like blood. Not to mention you cannot not fall in love with Dokuro-chan. P.S Click the spoiler tags in my sig for Dokuro-chan Gifs.

The thread should have ended as soon as Monster was suggested.

Yeap, Monster is the way to go even though it's depressing as hell most of the times
