Re: The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Movie Announced

I am extremely excited for this for two main reasons.

One, it's Haruhi, and it's the thing a lot of us have been waiting for.

Two, I'm going to Japan in 2010, so I plan on scheduling the whole trip around the release date. Whether or not I understand enough Japanese to even have a clue to what they're saying by then is irrelevant. I plan on seeing it either way, and since I've read the novel, I plan on ENJOYING it to the max.

I can't wait.

Ugh, now a movie of this?

I must admit, I did like the first season, but the second season was unbearable, it really killed the anime. I have no respect for this anime or its production staff anymore.

Hmm...you have some of a point there. Endless Eight was a blow to the series as a whole, and the second season was a bit of a disappointment. I also agree with you on account of the change in production staff. The art style was okay to me, but the new director should just be hung for ever thinking Endless Eight was a good idea.

Nevertheless, Sighs was good, and I guess part of being such a huge fan of the series because it was...*coughmyfirstanimeevercough*...keeps me by it through thick and thin. I hope the Disappearance movie doesn't disappoint.

More than likely it will, look at the second season, lol. I'm pretty sure the anime lost at least 30% of its fans just for that crap.

You're probably right.

But those are all the non-believers!

Eh, I think some people overreacted. I just hope Disappearance is good enough to save the series and perhaps bring more interest back into it. *crosses fingers*

Re: The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Movie Announced

Well, the anime had a pretty good strong fan base the first season, though only truly... Dedicated (lack of a better word at the moment) fans of it would follow it this far. Other anime viewers who watch from an objective perspective (which is mine, since I do review anime) would more than likely agree that the downfall from first to second season made too big of a gap in its fans, from "Haruhists" to people like me who have just completely lost respect for it.
