Ah, I see. I guess I'm not too much of an objective viewer. I tend to see most things in a positive light, unless they're too terrible to be ignored. So I guess you're right. The gap is a lot bigger now, and (obsessed) fans like me are among the majority of those who still stand by the series.

It's fine for you, I guess, since you can have whatever view you want on anime. Whatever works for you and helps you enjoy the anime more.

Wow. To those who disliked Endless, did you not read the novel? If so, your dislike is understandable. If you did read, didn't you understand that this arc was not the most exciting, but more a preparation, or an explanation (cloudy to many) of what is to come? Personally, I could see this series go a lot further. Hope it does!
Or could it be that it's not the dropoff of Haruhi fans as it is the often vocal anti KyoAni people?
It wasn't so much the overwhelming product as much as it was the constant jerking around with repackaged product.

I love the fact that the sellings of the endless "torture" DVD reached more than 10,000 copies on its release, as the producers were expecting. Even though it's basically the same content on 4 DVDs... maybe they want to watch them 15,000+ times to know how nagato felt like xD
Even though it looks stupid, I totally understand those ppl... when I buy some dvd series I want to have it all. It can have the same content on 4 damn dvds, but if I didn't have them I would feel disturbed, knowing that I missed a part of the series in my collection, like a ghost pursuing me... but that's just me :P

As for the movie, can't wait to watch it! I sure envy japanese ppl! D:

I have a feeling the movie is going to end up being the most epic and fantastic thing since the end of the Melancholy arc. I mean, I think it's going to skyrocket the series back to its former glory. I also think Nagato's popularity is going to go up tenfold as well.

I totally agree with you on this...

I think the first season gave us an idea of what haruhi is(God, Source of Auto evolution, etc) and her character. The second season (Endless and Sighs) showed us what she is capable of like altering time lines and putting into reality what she thinks of. At the same time, it also showed us that she still has a grasp of reality(highlighted by haruhi rejecting kyon's suggestion about the real identities of the 3) and that she's just like any other girl (getting all jealous with Mikuru and Kyon getting along so well and maybe subconciously torturing her because of it). Which makes me love her even more...

All in all, I would say an excellent effort by Kyoani to deliver the story of the Haruhi light novels.

I'm predicting another season of Haruhi after the Disappearance movie since there is still enough material for 12 to 14 EP series (possible 24?). And then maybe another movie or OVAs for the yet unfinished lightnovel.

Haruhism Lives...

Re: The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Movie Announced

Just read on Sanku that this will be 150mins long.
Impressive, but I have a feeling it will be a big let down.
I really want to believe that it will be good but...

Re: The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi Movie Announced

What I hope that won't happen is that the ending of the Disappearance is a major cliffhanger, like I don't want an ending where we want more and have to wait another 3 years for it.
Don't get me wrong, I hope the movie rocks BUT as I've read the light novels I know what happens and ALOT more happens after the disappearance. Why won't they just make the rest of the lightnovels into an anime form? It'll please the fans, perhaps even introduce some more.
All the while the episodes could be time consumers while Tanigawa Nagaru finishes off the 10th lightnovel. (Or starts...)
Perhaps then I would forgive them for the Endless arc.

EDIT:
