The only thing I know is that you can only really identify a MalieGF bitmap by seeing if the hex header for the file is 4D 61 6C 69 65 47 46.

Are you sure it isn't A Monarch Graphic File?

A monarch graphic file has a hex header of 4D 47 46 by the way.
