It was either Akira, Grave of the Fireflies, or X:The Movie (not the kenshin samurai one)
I don't remember which, but:
Akira-the manga is infinitely better
Grave of the Fireflies-only good anime movie besides Makoto Shinkai's work
X:The Movie-Absolute crap.
