Ditto, I like my hair long.
As for on girls...I generally prefer longer hair on a girl, and I usually get annoyed a bit when I see a girl cut her long hair (I even hate it when they do it in anime
). That being said, shorter hair can still look damn sexy on a girl, Catherine Bell is proof of that.
