it's becasue a RAR archive is like a CD image file which an ISO is also.
Prety much they have the same pack coding in the programming which makes it allowable to un-rar a ISO because of the same file programming.
I perfer the Virtual Drive Mounting better, because u get a definate result of it working, but if u un-rar the files using winrar, it tends to make some extractions have corruptions or missing/misplaced files.
Virtual Drives or Actual CD image burning of the ISOs is recomended, because that's how they are supose to be handled.
