starfire is on a distinguished road
are MKV's more fragile than others?

I've been downloading videos for a while now, and it I've noticed that I get a LOT more MKV files that are corrupt, unplayable, or simply don't function properly (missing subtitles, only work with specific codec build, etc.) than with all other types combined.

Is there something intrinsically fragile about mkv's that makes them more prone to corruption, is this just a coincidence, or is it just that the sloppy/inexperienced encoders prefer mkv?
