Haha yea 5cm/sec didn't do much for me either. I was just like a big "WTF?" But yeah, after pondering on it for a bit finally realise what everything meant. Really good movie, not tear-jerking material though.
Haven't watched a tonne of anime, but Kanon 2006 made my eyes water in the last episode when the guy went to the tree and realised what had actually happened. I just felt sorry for him that he covered up his pain the way he did, and with that and the music it was just T_T
