I didn't like Higurashi or Gantz, but surprisingly Elfen Lied was pretty damn good!
it was actually quite sad, a real tear-jerker, especially the episodes near the end
speaking of tear-jerkers, u guys gotta see Kyou's Chapter if u haven't already done so
